how to remove squiggle shape from word doc after the cursor

I am having a odd squiggle shape after my cursor which is not going after
selecting and deleting it. it has become a sore to the eye while working on
word page

does anyone know how to remove this problem

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the "Paragraph
marks" box | OK.
