how to remove the standard templates delivered with Office

G

Gert

Hello to you all,

We're using Office 2003. I want to remove all the standard templates from
Office.
I tried to alter the file locations but i keep seeing the General, Letters
and Faxes, Memo's etc. So this is not the cure... :-(

I want this because i've made my own templates and don't want to clutter up
the display with all the tabs from the default Office templates.
Just want to see my own tabs and templates. It must be possible but
how....????

Can anyone help me? I would appreciate your help.
I'll post the solution back here (if any).

Gert.

Hi Gert,

You can remove the file based templates, but not those that MS has 'built in' to the applications themselves.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889495/en-us?FR=1

Start with using add/remove programs in the Windows control panel and using the Microsoft Office choice to remove the optional
templates and wizards features and check the locations you're pointing to from the above articles. The tabs on the 'New Office
Documents' dialog are tied to folder names.
