How to remove write-protection?

E

emergency

I am no longer able to save anything onto or delete anything from my E:
dirve, and G: drive(the removable drive).
Each time I do so, this message pops up: This disk is write protected.
Please remove the write protection and try again. I don't remember doing
anything to make the desk read-only, and it was working just fine. Now what
can I do?

OK what type of drives are these?

All CD-ROM drives will not (generally!) not allow you to delete anything
from them.

Some Flash / thumb / keyring usb drives have an option to right-protect the
data by a little switch on the side.

It's a thumb USB drive. And yes! it's the switch! But I still couldn't figure
out why the CD-ROM dirve stop allowing me saving staffs on it. I do what I
usually do: click on the "save as", but the message pops up each time.
Thank you Simmon

Best bet with CD-Rom drivers (the ones you can write to) is to use the
software that came with the CD-ROM drive to write/burn your into to a blank
disc
