Which part of the renammer does not work? Are you able to launch the
program? Can you then see your projects? Can you rename? If yes to all,
then you're good to go. If no to these questions, try to uninstall the
renammer tool and reinstall.
In my experience with this utility, I fist was not logged in with
administrative rights. Once I logged in with admin rights, I could rename.
After the project is renamed, you need to open it in Professional and
republish the project. If you do not republish the project, when trying to
update the file with PWA, it will not work as timesheet is still looking for
the old file name. I learned this the hard way.
Dale's method also works. However, what I found is that the protected
actuals from timesheet is no longer linked to the newly created file; this
was unacceptable in our environment.
Tell me more about your issue with renammer not working; it didn't work the
first time I installed, but it works beautifully now.
