How to replace Japanese Office 2003 with English version

I have a new computer (gift) that came with Japanese 2003. I need it to be
in English. I have the original disc unopened, I bought the English 2003
upgrade, but it will not allow me to install it. Is there any way to get the
English version?

The upgrade will be looking for a qualifying app, I guess japanese2003 is
not a qualifying app.
I would think also that you would need to uninstall the japanese version,
prior to installing the english version.
If you have the origonal Japanese2003 disks, you could allways ebay them.
