How to replace master slide without destroying content

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I have several power point presentations. Just learned that I need to use newer master slide(updated organization logo)
Is there a way I can insert the new Master Slide in my existing ppt presntations so that I need not recreate all of them?
I need to use the new Master slide's logo and footer.
Appreciate your advice
