How to replace mergefields in a Word doc

D

Daryl G

From a newbie,

I have a large number of documents that all need the mergefields replaced
with different fields

I wasn't sure if a macro could do this.

If so, can anyone post a sample script or describe the process or commands.

As an example :-
A file contains the string MergeField HEALTH ....<<HEALTH>> and I want to
replace this (and many other similar strings) with MergeField
ACCOUNTING....<<ACCOUNTING>>.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi Daryl,

If you toggle on the field codes, you can use words Find and Replace
facility.

See the article “How to Find & ReplaceAll on a Batch of Documents in the
Same Folder” at:

http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MacrosVBA/BatchFR.htm

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
