how to requery split form

How can I requery the tabular part of a split form after any change in
my Date field in the Form area in the top of my split form? I have a
button to add a new record and I get a new record, select a date from
the calendar icon (or type one in) and then I want the lower part of
the split form (the tabular part) to requey so my "presorted" records
sort in descending order (using order by in form properties)
