How to resize Cell

How do I changed width for one cell without changing rest of cell in row. I show reply to earlier posting "select cell & drag the border" but this way I can't changed exact size I want. I have to do this many timees & after each change needto go to cell propertires & check it is what I want. While changing width, I want to sepcify how much width I want to change. (I can do this in word 97 but don't know how to do in Word XP)
