How to restore Entourage saved mail & addresses after OS update?

I recently updated by OS from 10.2.8 to 10.4.10. Because my hard drive was
damaged somehow, I had all my data backed up on DVDs. I've now reinstalled
Entourage X and it runs fine, but I can't find my old folders of e-mails.
It's the same Entourage x I had before - but Import options include
Entourage 2001, not Entourage X. I tried moving the Main Identity folder
from the backed-up DVDs to the new Main Identities folder in Microsoft User
Data folder - but that didn;t work, it just put me back at square one like a
new Entourage user.

Where can I find all this data that's on my backup DVDs and how can I
restore it to the new Entourage?? I sure hope someone can help because this
is a huge loss if not. Thanks in advance.

You can't import from the same version.

Moving the Main Identity folder back is the correct action. Try this. Rename
your current Microsoft User Data folder to Old Microsoft User Data folder.

Now drag back the entire Microsoft User Data folder you archived.

Basically, you need to replace the entire Identity folder named Main by
default to get your old mail back. Moving the entire MUD folder will also
get your scripts and other important Office files copied back over.
