how to restore my outlook CATEGORIES to previous date

I have thousands of contacts in my outlook which were all Categorized. But
unfortunately, I don't know what went wrong I found today that there are many
of the contacts appearing in all other categories. Can anyone help me how I
can restore back my previous categories as they were a day before.

Looking forward to your kind suggestions and help!!

If you don't have a backup of your data store, then display your contacts in
the By Category view, select the items that are improperly categoried,
right-click the selection and choose Categorize. Specify the correct
category and they'll all "move" to that grouping.
