How to restore outlook.pst

I have just had to instal a new hard disk. I have a saved copy of
outlook.pst, which I presume is where my previous emails & address book
reside.
Q1. - Is this true?
Q2 - If so, how do I go about restoring it?

A1; Yes
A2; Reconnect it via File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...
Afterwards you can set it as your default delivery location via File-> Data
File Management...

Hi. I have just had to re-install Windows XP and now want to bring back my
Outlook data from a .pst backup I had made. Read the document at
how-to-outlook.com but have two related questions:
a) what is the difference between "restore" using File Open and "import"?
b) what are the up and down sides of both methods?
