Barnhill, post: 5748617"] Ordinarily Word does set a right-aligned tab stop at the right margin when you first create the TOC (it's generated dynamically, not part of the TOC styles), but it can get lost if you omit numbering (on any level) or sometimes if you just tinker with the style (I've never figured out what causes it to go AWOL). AFAIK, there is no way to create a TOC that automatically includes running heads. An INDEX field can include headings for A, B, C, etc., but that's a different type of thing. -- Suzanne S.
