How to retain custom Reminder times

Hi,

I now know how you can specify a custom reminder interval - just by
typing the new on in the Reminder field (like 3 weeks, instead of 2 weeks).

Is there any way to RETAIN that value? I'd like "3 weeks" and "18
hours" to be retained for future appointment / meeting requests, instead
typing each in.
