How To Revert From Two-Column to Full Page?

Hello,

I'm working on a one page document. I've set it up with two side
borders and two columns. That's fine to a point. But, I want the bottom
third of the page to revert back to a full page/no-column format while
still retaining the borders.

I'm working with Word 2004. Is there a way to accomplish such a
mixed-format layout? I'd appreciate some advice.

Hello Dave,

At the end of the 2-column text, key Command-Return to insert a section
break. Then choose Format menu -> Columns -> 1 column. Then type in the
single column text.

Thanks a lot Clive. It's always nice to do something with formatting
the right way rather than by brute force (as I most often not entirely
successfully try at times).

Yes, Word can do many things, but has to be treated tenderly...

If you haven't seen it, you may find a few techniques for tender treatment
in some notes on the way I use Word for the Mac, titled "Bend Word to Your
Will", which are available as a free download from the Word MVPs' website
(http://word.mvps.org/Mac/Bend/BendWordToYourWill.html). It's designed to be
used electronically and most subjects are self-contained dictionary-style
entries. If you download it, make sure you read the front end -- especially
pages 3 and 5 -- so you can select some Word settings that will allow you to
use the document effectively.

Cheers,

Clive
