How to revise a document w/coment boxes in margins as a teacher wo

I am doing an online college assignment that requires that we review and edit
grammar and spelling errors on our peers' papers, and I'm not sure how to
revise a document without changing the document itself, but creating comment
boxes in the margins to show errors.
