Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

How do I save a word 2008 doc in an earlier version for someone who only has word 2003? The only option I have is to save in 97 - 2004. But the person I am sending documents to cannot open it.

So far I cannot find any options to save as a word 2003 doc which is what I need.

Thanks.

The file format is not the problem - in fact, Word 2003 can open OXML files
if the program has been properly maintained. Your problem is in teh delivvery
method.

First of all, make sure to use the check in the Save As dialog to Append
File Extensions. Thing get very "iffy" if you don't use them.

Second, make sure you zip the file if sending as an attachment. That helps
prevent tampering by the maze the file has to go through to get to where
you're sending it.

Lastly, make sure that your email software is properly encoding the
attachment. Proper settings depend on what email program you're using.
