how to save images from a worksheet

Here is my goal:

I intend to save images (pictures , Shape objects I guess) from a worksheet
as graphic files in a folder using VBA. Each picture from this worksheet
will have to be saved as a separate JPG or GIF file.

I have been struggling with this task for quite a time and as yet haven't
found any way to handle the task.

What is the best approach to tackle this issue?
