how to save link to file in a task? (symantek deletes shortcuts)

I am trying to save a link to an Excel file in a task. Some excel files on
my individual I: drive, some on a shared S: drive. I tried copying a
shortcut but the server's antivirus software deleted the shortcut. Any
work-arounds?

use a text link.
either paste from the address bar in Windows Explorer or get clipname
(http://www.mainsoft.fr/en/downloads.htm) and copy the path from the right
click menu.
