How to save picture as a Gif

If I click on an animated picture in MS Outlook 2003 for Save As, it
will only Save As in bitmap mode. The same email, sent through my
gmail account will save in Gif therefore I assume it has something to
do with settings within Outlook.

In bitmap all motion is lost, so I particularly wish to Save As Gif.
Any suggestions

Try deleting your temporary internet files. I forget the reason, but when
the cache gets full Internet Explorer only offers .BMP as an extension (and
it's that functionality that Outlook is using when saving if I'm not
mistaken).

Try deleting your Temporary Internet Files, then open the message and try
saving again and see if it works.

Tried that, emptied them (even though I keep it on auto delete anyway)
and then tried Save As with usual results.

What I find strange is that it will not allow me to change how it is
going to save the file, whereas in other modes one can take a choice.

I think this is one of those oh so irritating things that is probably
so obvious - once you think of it lol Thanks
