How to schedule an EXCEL file

V

Varadharajan

Hi all,

i am a beginer in using the EXCEL application.

I have a problem while trying to schedule a excel file, that should
run based on a schedule.

I tried using the Scheduled tasks in Windows but it was able to open
only the EXCEL application and not the required Excel(.xls) file. I
once tried with the Options of opening all the Excel file present in a
folder. This option works fine as long as there is only one .xls file
which is required to run under a schedule is in that folder.

Can any one help me out in scheduling a .xls file which is placed in a
folder along with many .xls file.

Is there any way to schedule a PASSWORD protected file.
Thanks in advance.
Varadhan.

Did you have a look at the task scheduler tutorial at
http://www.iopus.com/guides/winscheduler.htm ?

I assume that if you specify a command line like "...\excel.exe
file.xls" it should work.

But I am not sure what you want to achieve with an automatically opened
excel file? Trigger some VBA commands?
