how to schedule reminders in 1note and have them implemented

is it possible using onenote by itself or in conjunction with any other
office software to write myself a reminder in onenote, and then have it
delivered or displayed at a predetermined time or date, or circumstance.
example, in one note I write myself a note stating cancel subscription to
blahblah on such and such a day, and then on that day after logging in or
booting up, have that note displayed on top in my desktop?

Tools menu | Create Outlook Item | Create Outlook Task

This requires Outlook 2003 (no other email client or earlier version of
Outlook will work). Once the new Task is on the screen, the normal
Outlook features for setting reminders, etc. can be used.

Are you selecting text in OneNote first? That menu item creates the
Outlook object from the selected text. If nothing is selected, then a
blank object will be created.

I have made a comment elsewhere about the need for adding "due dates" for
tasks in ON. To just create a task in Outlook instead, misses the point
entirely! Why should I have to work across 2 separate programmes to manage my
work? The benefit of ON is the multi-project/sub-project structure which
Outlook is incapable of (Categories are a small help).

WIthout these due dates on tasks, ON is inadequate for me, and I have to
replicate all tasks in Outlook (or other application such as Salesforce.com).
Computers should eradicate duplicated input, not stimulate the need for it!
