I just switched from Word 97 to Word 2003, and am having some problems
figuring out how to configure some of its features.

For example, now when I click on a menu button, I only see a truncated
menu, with a little chevron character at the bottom that I have to
click to see the rest of the menu.

I've hunted around the options menus but haven't stumbled on the way to
turn off this feature. I don't even know what the feature is called,
so that makes it hard to find the setting for it :)

Hi Will,

You may also want to try going to Tools>Customize>Options.

There you should be able to tick the box that says "Always show full
menus".

Hopefully this might help you to always see the full contents of the
menu drop-down box (without the chevrons).

I believe it's called something like abbreviated menus or recent
menus.
