How to see if there are activities planned for the next week

E

Eileen

hello

I have more than 400 tasks, and have difficutlty in seeing what are the activities that are planned for the next period via the calendar view. Are there better alternatives?

I am also interested in knowing what are the tasks that have already slipped, are there ready views/reports templates available?

thanks

Hello Eilen,
You can create a filter which will display all the task which are expected
to start on that periode (in the Gantt View for example) :
Project / Filter For... / More filters / New...
- Field Name : Start
- Test : is within
- Value : "Beginning of periode"?;"End of periode"?
You are supposed to have saved the baseline before launching the project :
Tools / Tracking / Save Baseline... / OK
Look at the Tracking Gantt : the baseline is represented by grey bars.

Hope this help,

Take a look at the views available in the View menu and the filters in
the Project menu. There are a number of them that display the sort of
information you're asking about.

If you want to see them on screen then try this:

1. Tools | Options | View tab and clear the "Show summary tasks" box (this
will clear up the display)
2. Project | Filtered for ... | More filters and try various filters
including "Date range ...", "Should Start by", "Should finish by"

If you want a report then try some of the canned reports
1. View | Reports | Current activities.and then choose the report you like,
customize it (if necessary) and print it out.

There's a "catch" when using reports. The default reporting date range is
the entire project. To get around that do this:

1. File | Print Preview ... | Print (this sets up to print a standard
report) and then click on "Dates" and choose the appropriate From and To
dates, and click on the Preview button. This doesn't actually print a
report but does set up the dates-to-print range. (There's probably a
simpler way to handle this but once I found this approach worked on some
larger projects I stopped looking for something more efficient.)
