This can be done with some customization by the Project Server
administrator. He/she will need to create a custom PWA view by completing
these steps:
1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click Admin - Manage Views
3. In the Assignment section of the data grid, select the Summary view and
click the Copy View button
4. Name the new View something like "Project Manager by Task" and then
click the OK button
5. Select the new View and click the Modify View button
6. In the list of fields on the right, add/remove fields to show only the
following fields in this order:
Task Name
Resource Name
Work
Remaining Work
Start
Finish
% Work Complete
Project Manager (you will need to add this one)
Project
7. In the Default Group, Sort section, set the Group By field to Project
Manager and the Then By field to Project
8. In the Categories section, make sure the My Organization and My Projects
categories are listed on the right (if not, add them)
9. Click the Save Changes button
After the Project Server administrator creates this custom Assignment view,
Project Managers (and others) can apply the view by completing the following
steps:
1. Log into Project Web Access
2. Click the Resources menu
3. Click the "View resource assignments" link in the sidepane on the left
4. Select the "Project Manager by Task" view from the Select a view
drop-down list in the upper right corner of the page
5. Select the resources whose timesheets will be examined and then click
the Apply button
6. In the sidepane on the left, select All Assignments option
7. Click the View Options tab and select the "Show summary tasks" option
8. Click the View Options tab again to collapse the options in that section
9. Click the Save Link button and give the custom layout a name, such as
Project Managers, and then click OK
In the future, project managers can reapply this custom view simply by
clicking its link in the Saved Links section at the top of the sidepane for
the Resource Center page. Hope this helps.
