How to set a new location for forms and templates

Currently the default location for storing Outlook forms and templates is:
C:\Documents and Settings\UT09U8\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\*.oft

However I would like to change it to point to a network drive instead such
as Z:\

Is there a way to change the setting to point to another location? If so
please provide step by step details.

Version of outlook?

I'm not aware of any way to change it - unless changing it the other office
apps is global for all office apps. You'll have to test it to verify. I gave
up on using methods that changed the registry because a reformat or new
machine required me to change the registry. It got old fast, even with a reg
file. :)

I either just browse to my alternate location or publish the form in an
outlook folder (published forms are listed on the actions menu when in that
folder) or copy the template to a folder in outlook - these last two methods
insure I always have the template and its easier to find them than using the
form menu. I have a few on the hard drive and use a link in quick launch to
point to that location - I open the forms from the file system, not from the
forms browser in outlook (or word). it's faster. :) Note that depending on
the customization, templates may not work correctly and you'll need to
publish the form.
