How to set an alarm with a note

Currently evaluating OneNote. I quite like what I see, but can't figure out
how to set a alarm on a note such that a reminder annoys me at the chosen
time and data.

One thing is to take notes, one other thing is to take related action (Call
mother in law - at 16:00). I guess this is an Outlook task, it is just that I
prefer not to use Outlook very much.

Any way to do this in OneNote?

You're correct. You need to set the "alarm" via an Outlook 2003 task.
