How to set indent tabs in email messages?

I am trying to customize the format of my email messages. I am using
"Impact" stationary, background color and signature. I have been able to
permanently indent my signature so that the stationary border doesn't obscure
it but have not figured out how to set tabs so that the text indent aligns
with the signature. How do I set the tabs so new messages and replies to my
messages stay aligned with my signature?
