how to set-up Outlook 2003 to send to NetZero

Desertkid posted the same problem I am having " can't send Outlook 2003
emails through Netzero". Have received two help messages from NetZero support
and have tried all their suggestions. Nothing works. I can receive emails, so
I'm able to connect to their Pop3 server, but can't connect to their SMPT
server. Please tell me what Desertkid did or I welcome any help....

Care to enumerate "all their suggestions" so we know what you've tried?

The most likely problem is failure to properly authenticate to the outgoing
server.

Brian, Thanks again for your help
You asked for the NetZero support sugestions:
Include Netzero & Outlook as exceptions to Firewall blocking.
Change SMPT address to authsmpt.netzero.net.
Delete all existing outbox messages.
Check member id, pop3 &smpt adresses are all netzero.net.
Change dial number
Check all connections
Redo complete set-up in NetZero "settings" and Outlook Tools-Email Accounts

If this is what you have, then it's no wonder Outlook can't find the server.
The correct server is "authsmtp.netzero.net" . You have "smpt", not "smtp".
Moreover, uf you're referencing an authorizing SMTP server, then chances are
you'll need to use a port other than 25.

Have you looked at NetZero's Help pages?
http://www.netzero.net/support/email/auth-smtp.html
http://www.netzero.net/support/email/email-setup.html

Thanks Brian, You really helped solve this problem. I deleted everything,
read all the help, changed to authsmtp.netzero.net, re-set up Outlook and
Netzero settings and can now send and receive. You saved the day.---Thanks
again .
