How to set up server side auto reply using OL 2007 with EX 2003

There are lots of web posts about using the old "inbox assistant" and setting
up server side rules in earlier versions of Outlook. There must be a way to
set up a server side rule in Outlook 2007 (Exchange 2003) to do an auto
reply, but I cannot make it work. Can anyone send me or direct me to
instructions?
Thanks!

Thanks Sue. I do not see any options that allow me to designate "have server
reply". In OL 2007 I do not have a "rules wizard", I do have a "rules and
alerts" and using that to create a blank rule I never see a choice of server
or client side. Just conidtions and actions.

Is there some kind of add-on I need? or something in the Exchange server
that has to be set?

Thanks again.

Did you look at the actions for the "have server reply" action?

Whether a rule runs on the client or server is not an explicit setting. It
depends totally on the conditions and actions you choose for the rule. Some
of the conditions that will force a rule to execute only on the client are
listed at http://www.slipstick.com/rules/serverbased.htm. You'll want to
avoid those.

Once you set your conditions appropriately, on the actions list you should
see "have server reply using a specific message." Select that action, then
click the underlined text to create the message you want to appear in the
reply.

Got it now. I was looking for it as an option on the reply template. Thanks
for the answer and the additional info re client vs server.
