Steve,
First you might want to go to our MVP webpage at,
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm, and take a look at FAQ 5 - Default
Working Hours. Then if you still have questions, post again.

Hope this helps.

I'd suggest two calendars, one for each shift. If you try to have one
calendar, that implies that once work begins on a single task it will
continue 24/7 until complete. But a well-built WBS breaskdown the work to
the point that a "task" describes work done by one resource or team who work
as a unit. Scheduling via a single 24 hour calendar means that your
resources never get a break or time off, except for the meal periods you
mentioned. If Joe is assigned to a task lasting 1 week starting Monday at
8am, he doesn't go home or stop working until the task is done on Friday.
People gotta sleep sometime.

Hi Steve

Going ahead from Steve's response. You may have activities continuing in 24
hrs time, but resources might change in each shift. In such case make two
calendars (7 AM - 7:30 PM, 7:30 PM - 7AM). Assign these calendars to
different resources as applicable and assign resources to activities. This
way your activities would continue 24 hrs, but resources w ill keep changing.

I hope it helps.

Hi Steve,

When you set up shift work spanning midnight, you have to set it up for one
day eg 2400 to 0400 and 2000 to 2400 will give you one shift from 2000 to
0400.
