How to share macros

I have created some macros and stored them in normal.dot so they are
available globally to all my Word documents.

Now I want to give those macros to others in the office. I tried just
copying my normal.dot (the one under document settings / my name /
etc) to their machine, but they still don't have them.

Is there a way to copy those macros to other machines?

Thank you

The best way to make macros available is NOT to use the Normal template,
rather put the macros in a separate template for each application and, if
needed, use a, say, Utility.dot template for more general purpose macros.

Then, depending on the design of the macros and system security, the
templates may be:

1. Put in a workgroups, or other, directory that Word will automatically
search for all users; or
2. Put in each user's template directory.

In some cases, the macro code may have to be adjusted depending on where the
template will live.

Check Word Help for a topic (in Word 2003) "About template locations".
