When you create an enterprise resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool and
enter a Windows user account for that resource, the system creates a user
account in PWA that uses Windows user account authentication. This means
there is no password for the user account, since user authentication is
handled based on their Windows user account. If you create a resource in
the Enterprise Resource Pool and do not enter a Windows user account, then
the system creates a user accont in PWA that uses Project Server
authentication. To log into PWA, that resource must enter both a User Name
and a Password. By default, the password is blank, and the first time the
user logs into PWA, the system prompts him/her to change the password.
I don't understand what you mean in your second question. Are you using
Active Directory synchronization or not? If yes, you have to set up the AD
information in two places in PWA (Server Configuration and Groups). The
first location populates the Enterprise Resource Pool and the second
location adds the resources to the proper security Groups in PWA. AD
sychronization will automatically create user accounts that use Windows user
account authentication, so there will be no passwords for these resources.
Please explain further and we will try to assist you.
