How to show a Stereotype on a UML Association?

This is what I tried so far:
The “Shape display options > Stereotype†is checked.
But the “UML Association Properties > Stereotype†is dimmed.
How can I show a Stereotype on a UML Association?

I am using Visio2003 on Win2000.
