Hi

How can you actually show the % complete above the task bar for each
task ?

Thanks.

Hi,

Format, Bar Styles
shift to find a blank styles line at the end of the list
Name: any (for instance Percent Complete)
Show for... leave empty
Middle Shape select the uppermost (which represents "No Bar")
Click the word Text
In "Top" select the field % Complete
OK.

Hi

You could also do it this way. If you are in 'Tracking Gantt' view:

Format > Bar styles > select Critical type of bar (it would be in the first
row and automatically highlighted) > Click Text option in the lower part of
that window > For top position select data % complete.

Similarly do it for Task type of bar for Non critical tasks.

If you are in Gantt view and not viewing the baseline:

Format > Bar styles > select Task type of bar (it would be in the first row
and automatically highlighted) > Click Text option in the lower part of that
window > For top position select data % complete.

Again do it for Critical also and any other type of task also like Summary
tasks.

I hope it helps.

Hi Conks,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

By default, when a task is being progressed, a black line should show inside
the Gantt bar. If you want the figures to show: Format/Bar styles.../select
Task in the Name column, click on the Text tab, select Top and from the pick
list select % Complete. Repeat for Critical Tasks and for any others you
want..

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Vanita, Mike

I've been doing this like you for years till I found a way to do it for all
tasks in one go (and not have to think about which kinds of tasks there
are)..

Greetings,

Hi Gerard,
Thanks for the compliment.
There was a bit of luck involved. Once (accidentally) I added a line, forgot
to enter a condition in Show For... and noticed that then it applied to all
tasks (except milestones!); immediately I thought about the frequent demand
to put the task name left of the task bars... and it worked.

Jan,

No matter how you found it -- I'm impressed and was completely
unaware of this gem!
