How to show InfoPath form fields on a SharePoint library

Hi,

I'm using IP2007 and when I publish this form I know I can create columns to
SharePoint library, however my problem is when I submit the form to the
library through a data connection to the library (a button with a rule on
form) it does not have a means to map InfoPath form fields to the columns in
library.

Also when I create the column it does not ask if I want to map it to any
InfoPath form field.

Any idea how this can be accomlished ? I appreciate your help and time in
this matter. Thank you.

Hi Alok,

Go to Tools menu --> Form Options. Then select Property Promotion and select
the fields from your data source you want to promote. Typically, you would
want to promote non-repeatable fields, since fields inside repeating tables
are not promotable.

Hope this helps,
Miguel

Hey Miguel,

Thank you so much for your quick response. However it did not help me since
Property Promotion section had all the fields already listed there. Please
note that I am publishing the form to a different library and when actually
form is filled and submitted its being submitted to a different library, and
this is the library I want to show form fileds on the columns.....I created
the column but now do not know how column can be mapped back to the filed on
the form.

Thanks & regards,

Alok

Hi Alok,

One possible solution I believe is to have each field on your form you want
to publish mapping to a site column in SharePoint. Thefore, if both your
libraries (the one where you publish the form into and the one where your
form instances are saved) have the same site columns (the quickest way is for
both libraries to use the same content type that would include these site
columns), the form fields values would be saved in the the libary where the
form is being submitted to. Please let me know if it works.

Hope it helps,
Miguel

I thought I can not publish to the same library where I was saving the
instances. Thank you so much for all your help and guidance. Am sure in
future I'll b eusing it. :)

Hi Guys,

I am working with Infopath 2007 and MOSS 2007. As a beginnner I was trying to publish a infopath form as a template to a MOSS form library.

I was able to do that. However I dont see the data (field values) under the columns in the library view. I added all the cloumns i wished to see under property promotions. I see the column headers but no values under it. Only column values I see are the default SP columns like Modified, created, title.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sid
