I have an English Windows XP sp2, and English Word 2003. I have no trouble
reading/writing documents in Japanese language. My regional settings are set
to Japanese for non-unicode programs since I use a variety of Japanese
Language software. I have added Portuguese to my input languages, along with
Japanese, tho I don't need to type in Portuguese; rather just want to be able
to print some Portuguese documents.
However, when I open the Portuguese documents, it either shows them with
question marks instead of the accented letters, or if I sync them from my
pocket pc, it just shows them without any accents, but retains all the
letters.
My Pocket PC 2003 can handle showing the accents - Why can't my Computer??
The Portuguese documents are exerpts from a book that I downloaded. I just
want to print out some pages for study and reference along side of the
translation in Japanese, but cannot retain the original script of the
Portuguese.
I cannot imagine that Microsoft products handle only one foreign language at
a time...so please help me unlock the door to this question.
Thanks!
