How to show whether project is on time?

I need to use a custom field in Project Pro to show whether a project is
on time, a head of time or is lag behind. What is the formula that can
calculate this ?

You've already got it - in the Views menu display the Variance table.
Remember to save a baseline so you have a reference point for "on time."
