To enable Silent Mode in Office 2007 without restarting your computer, you can follow these steps:
Open any Office 2007 application, such as Word or Excel.
Click on the Office Button (the circular button in the top left corner).
Click on "Options" at the bottom of the menu.
In the "Popular" section, check the box next to "Show Developer tab in the Ribbon" and click "OK".
Click on the newly visible "Developer" tab in the ribbon.
Click on "Add-Ins" in the "Controls" section.
Click on the "COM Add-Ins" button and then click "Go".
Uncheck all of the add-ins listed and click "OK".
Close all Office applications and the silent mode will be enabled.
