How to start onenote 2007 and send a file to it

I want to have a command line way to start OneNote 2007 and pass a filename
and have the contents inserted as a page in onenote. I have looked at the
documentation for command line arguments and tried all of the options. None
seem to be able to do this. It seems you have to create an XML file and have
somehting in the XML file that has the document name to insert.

There *must* be a way to do this, right?

The XML input is the preferred way to do this, and I expect that there will
be more 3rd party utilities and MS unsupported power toys released as the
product gets closer to release.

Having said that, if you want something quick and dirty, you could try the
"/paste" command line option. If you open up the file, copy the contents of that file, then open ON with the
/paste option, that will get you a little closer to what you're looking for...

Thanks, unfortunately, I have an applicaiton that creates a file and can
launch a commnd with arguments. I wanted automation., not manual copy and
paste.

A real disappointment. MS needs to think about simpler uses and simple
scritps, where people don't have the access to create XML and the like. This
should be a trivially simple thing to do:

onenote.exe /add file section

What type of file is created ?

With the lack of VBA in OneNote 2003/2007/likely forever, easily
accessible enduser automation seems unlikely. I suspect M$'s
hesitation with VBA is security driven not functionality driven. Of
course, with OneNote 2003 being essentially a marginally useful "Only
for Notes" app, broad functionality is not a top priority for OneNote.
That being said, OneNote 2007 is looking darn fine.
