How to stop End Note Launching with Microsoft Word?

I use a bibliography refrences program called Endnote and it launches
automatically when I launch Word. I have tried to stop this by looking
in the Startup folders, but there is not mention of it there. I
suspect it might be in the registry. Does anyone know how I might
disable this feature?

Thanks

Trust me, it's not in the registry on a Mac, and you're asking in the Mac
Word group :)

In EndNote, go to Tools>Options... There should be an option there to
launch at startup or not. And yes, whatever you choose there probably is
written to the registry.

You mention that you have looked in the Startup Folders: did you check the
one for "All Users"? That's where installs done by a user with
administrative priviledges put there stuff. Which account did you install
from?

Cheers

Ah. A Mac Forum...my mistake. I will find the PC forum and ask them.

Though what John mentioned also applies to the Windows version.

This is a default behavior set for the EndNote add-on. In Word, you can
access the preferences of the add-on and disable this behavior to
prevent Word from launching EndNote. No need disabling the entire add-on
(which then would prevent you from using EndNote when you actually want
to).
