how to stop messages from going directly to "delete"?

Lately, I have found e-mail messages in my "deleted items" that never went
through the inbox. Is there something I can fix to correct this problem.
Some are very vital messasges, and I only discovered them by accident!

Hi,

I suggest you re-send the message to the newsgroup that supports
Outlook.
