Hi,
Most of the spam I get is in HTML format. The emails
include graphics that are not attachments - they are
references to the spammer's web site where the graphics
are downloaded from by Outlook when rendering the email.
The HTML tags also send a long ASCII string to the site
which probably contains my email address encoded. What
this amounts to is that when I use Outlook simply to view
an HTML email, a spammer knows what my email address is,
when I have viewed their email and what my IP address is.
Not good.
What I want to find out is how I can prevent Outlook from
accessing external web sites to render HTML emails. I
can't find anything in Tool/Options or the Knowledgebase.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Nigel
