How to Stop Project 1

D

Dominic

Is it me or do other users get frustrated by Microsoft Project automatically
displaying Project 1 whenever a project file is opened - other Microsoft
applications don't do this when opening a specific file. I have had a look
in the Options in Project Professional and the Administrator settings in
Project Web Access but cannot find a "switch" to disable this feature - is
it a registry issue?

I think what he means is in Project Pro. When you open a
published project plan, Project Pro will open up the
published project AS WELL AS a blank "project 1" file.
That is, 2 Project Pro will be shown in the WIndows
taskbar.

Hi Dominic,

Could you put something in the Enterprise global auto open
code that checks the name of each project and then takes
the action of closing a project if it is called 'project
1'.

If on the other hand you are talking about when you
actually launch the Microsoft Project Application, I wrote
some code for Project 2000 that closed the Project1 that
was created whenever the Application was launched, this
was slightly more complicated though, but it is possible.
