how to stop visio from moving objects after paste

M

mgriffit

I hope this is a simple question. I want to prevent Visio from moving shapes
already on the page when I do a copy/paste or drag and drop a new shape onto
the page. I would like to have some shapes overlap. But when I try to move
one shape on top of the other, Visio moves everything else out of the way.
Any help appreciated

What Visio version ? Right now I only can check in Visio 2000 SR-1 and here
I can overlap as many shapes I like to.
If you are referring to connector lines type, their behavior can be either
individually (right click) or set globally from File -> Page Setup... ->
Layout and Routing tab -> Routing Overlap

There's another section in the PageSetup dialog
Layout and Routing
Move other shapes away on drop
