How to store daily hand written invoices and be easy to search?

Having a septic company, you have daily hand written invoices with different
names and address for each. The law is you save them for 5 years. Thats
alot of paper. I need to be able to scan invoices, and have them easily
accessable by inputing the address and have it pull up with all info like
Name/date/address/price/paid or unpaid/check #.

Well I would suggest storing the originals by invoice # after recording
each invoice search data (date, invoice #, customer, customer address plus
any other data you may need to search on) in a database like Microsoft
Access. If you are a small company and lack anyone skilled in or interested
in leaning Access then maybe you could use Excel Database as an alternative.
Even Microsoft Word could be used.

Generally, you would input your paperwork into an accounting/bookkeeping
application. Or even an Excel spreadsheet.
You could scan all, then the resulting pdf files would be searchable using a
desktop search application
