How to Subscribe to Thread???

Using XP. Isn't there a way to subscribe to a thread so I
can be notified if there is a response to my inquiries?
After a few days elapse, it's hard to locate your item. I
thought I used to see a subscribe button near the new post
and post reply buttons.

I love these Newsgroups and have learned so much. It would
really help me to be able to follow any thread I select.

Thanks in advance for any advice or help!!!
