How to switch the language of the user interface?

I freshly installed my Office 2008 Student Version (purchased in Germany) on my Mac at home. The user interface of this computer is set to American English. The user interface of Office 2008 comes up in German. How can I switch the Word UI (manually or according to the configured UI language)?

You're not going to like the answer, but you can't do that. To get the
English version of the UI, you will need to buy the English version of the
software. It might also be possible to borrow a friend's English installer
DVD and to use it with your own product key, but I'm not entirely sure about
the legal aspect of that procedure.
