How to swtich between documents?

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I can't figure out how to switch between documents using the keyboard. On pc's it is simply alt-tab I believe (I was using it for years but don't have the pc keyboard in front of me). Now that I'm using an Apple computer it sure would help to be able to switch between open Word documents easily.
