How to synchronize server calendar with local calendar automatically

L

Leo Bueno

Office 2003, Windows XP Professional, Exchange Small Business Server.

Before installing the exchange server, I used Yahoo's calendar
autosync feature (and software) to automatically mirror my calendar on
the Yahoo calendar.

After going to the Exchange server, the synchronization no longer
works. I understand it has to with Office not using a .pst file on
the server.

I tried Google's autosync and it apparently only works with the local
calendar.

So, I figured that one work-around would be to have the server based
caldendar and the local calendar synchronized. Then, I would autosync
the local calendar to Yahoo's calendar. In effect, I would mirror the
server calendar twice; not elegant, but may work.

Thus, the question is how to synchronize the local and server
calendars (with the idea of then synchronizing the local calendar with
Yahoo's calendar).

Thanks.

Google syncs with my exchange mailbox calendar... I don't use yahoo but I
thought they dropped intellsync support.

Is there a reason why you need your exchange calendar in yahoo or google?
Unless the admin disabled OWA, you can access it from the internet.

The server based calendar is already synced to the local client considering
that an Exchange connection is a 2-way sync. I see no reason why a 3rd party
tool cannot use the Calendar from an Exchange mailbox as the source via
Outlook for their sync process. There is no difference from that aspect
between an Exchange based mailbox storage or pst-file based mailbox storage.

The Google calendar will be just fine, if I can sync it to the
Exchange Otlook calendar.

Part of the problem is that I have not been able to get rid of my
local Outlook calendar. I tried using the Google sync utility and it
synced to the local calendar not to the Exchange calendar.

So, please let me know we should configure Outlook so that Google will
sync to the Exchange caldendar.

With respect to your questiion, I am aware that I can access the
calendar from the remotely, but for operational reasons, I would like
to have a double calendar/mirror.
